The Monsanto weed killer product Roundup has been linked to the dangerous form of cancer non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL), prompting many people to seek legal action against the manufacturing giant. However, there are still plenty of folks out there who have never heard of Roundup’s dangers and continue to buy it. Indeed, Monsanto continues to sell it without any warnings because the company is still trying to deny the product is dangerous.
In order to help spread the word and warn consumers of the potential dangers, Attorney Richard Schwartz and Attorney Patrick Wooten of Richard Schwartz & Associates Personal Injury Lawyers, P.A., P.A. in Mississippi recently spoke on CBS WCBI News. In the interview, they discussed the key developments in the lawsuits against Monsanto. In particular, there have been three successful trials in favor of the plaintiffs, and there are another 13,000 pending lawsuits across the continent. The federal judge overseeing all of the lawsuits has also ordered all parties into private mediation.
In other words, the Roundup lawsuits are developing positively for plaintiffs. With each successful trial or mediation, there is more and more reason to see the evidence of the weed killer’s links to cancer as concrete.
Due to the subtle nature of the disease, Attorney Schwartz also advised viewers to speak with their doctor about monitoring if they use Roundup herbicide. Without close monitoring, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is often undetectable until it is in stage 4. He also advised that anyone who has used RoundUp and who has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or a similar form of cancer speak with an attorney as soon as possible. As mentioned, the lawsuits are progressing, and delaying too long to seek legal action could be problematic for future plaintiffs.
