Yeager Matthews Bass is an accomplished personal injury attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals and families who have been injured or wronged. Born and raised in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Yeager has deep roots in the Mississippi Delta and a strong commitment to serving clients throughout the state.
Yeager attended Mississippi State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering and Business Management. He then attended Mississippi College School of Law, earning his Juris Doctor and graduating magna cum laude in the spring of 2020. During law school, Yeager served as Editor-in-Chief of the Mississippi College Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He competed in the PACE Environmental Law Moot Court Competition and was inducted into the Order of Barristers and Legal Writers' Circle in recognition of his excellence in oral and written advocacy. Yeager was also selected as a Hearin Scholar, an honor awarded to the top students in each law school class.
Before entering private practice, Yeager served as a legal extern for Presiding Justice James W. Kitchens of the Mississippi Supreme Court. In that role, he reviewed petitions for certiorari and motions for rehearing, conducted extensive legal research, and prepared legal memoranda on complex legal issues.
After passing the Mississippi Bar examination, Yeager returned to his hometown in the Mississippi Delta and focused his practice on personal injury litigation. He has represented clients in a wide range of matters, including premises liability, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, and bad-faith insurance claims. In the summer of 2026, Yeager joined Schwartz & Associates, and currently practices from the firm's Columbus, Mississippi, office. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi, as well as before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Yeager's commitment to the legal profession extends beyond his practice. He served as Commissioner for District 11 of the Mississippi Bar from 2022 through 2025 and served as President of the Mississippi Delta Young Lawyers Association and Chair of the Nominations Committee for the Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division. His professional accomplishments have been recognized through his selection as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in 2022 and as a Top Young Professional by the Delta Business Journal in 2021.
Yeager, his wife, Jordan, and their son, Gunner, reside in Starkville, Mississippi. He is an avid supporter of Mississippi State athletics and remains actively involved in the community. Outside of practicing law, Yeager enjoys working out at his local CrossFit gym, playing pickleball, and spending time outdoors, particularly hunting deer and ducks.
