What is Schwartz Supports?

Similar to the mission in our legal work at Richard Schwartz & Associates Injury Lawyers, Schwartz Supports is an extension of our law firm that aims to lend a hand to people all over Mississippi who are in need. From donations and sponsorships, to volunteering and advocating, Schwartz Supports wants to help our local community! Every month Schwartz Supports focuses on a different charity or effort that needs our help and attention. Turkey drives, school supply donations, and Make-A-Wish trips are just a few examples of what we are passionate about. Making genuine connections with the families that live in these communities while making a difference is incredibly rewarding, and we cannot wait for more opportunities to serve our state this year!

What is the Difference Between Donations and Sponsorships?

Although used interchangeably, donations and sponsorships are two different charitable acts. A donation usually involves giving money to a business or organization, but it can also include providing services or goods. Donations, sometimes known as corporate philanthropy, are given for the organization’s benefit without a requirement for publicity. Sponsorships are publicly recognized donations of money or in-kind gifts. For any monetary donations or product gifts, the sponsor receives some form of recognition or publicity, such as their name on a banner. Sponsorships are typically for charitable events. At Richard Schwartz, we are proud to support the community and local businesses with both sponsorships and donations. We value our neighbors and local companies, and we want to give back. Whether it’s making donations to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi or sponsoring St. Jude Research Hospitals, we are ready to help.

March 2025: Radiothon at Children's Hospital

Team Schwartz was honored to participate in the Radiothon at Children’s of Mississippi Hospital, joining families, staff, and community partners in supporting the life-changing work happening there every day. Our team spent the day on-site engaging with supporters, cheering on the kids, and helping raise awareness for the hospital’s mission to provide hope and healing to children across our state. We’re grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside such an incredible organization and to contribute to a cause that means so much to Mississippi families.

April 2025: Soup, Soap, and Salvation

Team Schwartz was proud to participate in the Salvation Army’s Soup, Soap, and Salvation initiative, supporting their mission to provide essential resources to individuals and families in need. Our team helped with meals, organized supplies, and connected with members of our community who rely on the Salvation Army’s services. It was a meaningful opportunity to give back and lend a helping hand, and we are grateful to stand with an organization that brings hope, dignity, and support to so many across Mississippi.

May 2025: Brandon's Jubilee Days

Team Schwartz had a great time participating in Brandon Jubilee Days, joining local families and community partners for a weekend full of fun, food, and hometown pride. Our team hosted a booth where we handed out giveaways, shared helpful legal resources, and connected with residents from across Rankin County. It was an amazing opportunity to celebrate community spirit, support local vendors, and show our continued commitment to being present and involved in the places we serve. We’re already looking forward to next year!

June 2025: Cara's Dog Days of Summer

Team Schwartz was excited to participate in CARA’s 16th Dog Days of Summer, supporting an amazing cause dedicated to finding loving homes for animals across Mississippi. Our team set up a booth, handed out fun giveaways, and connected with fellow pet lovers while celebrating the mission behind CARA. It was a day full of wagging tails, community spirit, and meaningful conversations about how we can all help make a difference for animals in need. We’re grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a heartfelt event and proud to support CARA’s ongoing work.

June 2025 Blood Donation

Members of Team Schwartz proudly rolled up their sleeves to donate blood in support of Mississippi Blood Services, helping provide lifesaving resources for patients across our state. Our team showed up with enthusiasm and heart, knowing that each donation has the power to save multiple lives. Giving back to the communities we serve is at the core of who we are, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that plays such a vital role in Mississippi’s healthcare system.

June 2025: First pitch at Mud Monsters

Attorney Patrick Wooten had the honor of throwing the first pitch for the Mississippi Mud Monsters, and our Team Schwartz family showed up and showed out in full force to cheer him on. It was an exciting day of baseball, community spirit, and firm pride as our team filled the stands, celebrated together, and supported our hometown players. Moments like these remind us how strong our Schwartz family truly is—on and off the field.

August 2025: Dave Gaylon Golf Tournament   

Members of Team Schwartz were honored to participate in the Dave Galyon Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted by the Mississippi Association for Justice, in tribute to our former partner and dear friend whose courageous battle with cancer ended in 2015. Playing in this tournament allowed our team to honor his legacy, celebrate the impact he made on our firm and the legal community, and support a cause that continues to bring people together in his memory. It was a meaningful day filled with camaraderie, reflection, and a shared commitment to carrying forward the values he exemplified.

September 2025: Delta Blues Festival

Team Schwartz had an incredible time participating in the Delta Blues & Heritage Festival, celebrating one of Mississippi’s most iconic cultural traditions. Our team connected with festival-goers, shared helpful resources, and enjoyed a day filled with great music, community pride, and the rich heritage that makes the Delta so special. We were proud to be part of an event that brings people together from across the state and showcases the heart of Mississippi’s history and sound.

September 2025: National Night Out

Team Schwartz was proud to take part in National Night Out in Jackson, joining local families, first responders, and community organizations for an evening focused on safety, unity, and neighborhood spirit. Our team enjoyed connecting with residents, handing out fun giveaways, and supporting an event that strengthens relationships between the community and those who serve it. It was a great night filled with conversations, smiles, and a shared commitment to making Jackson a safer, stronger place.

October 2025: Monstobeerfest

Team Schwartz had a blast participating in Monstobeerfest, held at Trustmark Stadium, joining the community for a fun-filled celebration of fall, music, and local flavor. Our team enjoyed meeting families, handing out giveaways, and soaking in the festive atmosphere alongside fellow vendors and attendees. Events like Monstobeerfest give us the chance to connect with the communities we serve in a relaxed, upbeat setting, and we’re always grateful to be part of the fun.

October 2025: Making Strides Against Cancer 

Team Schwartz was honored to participate in the Making Strides Against Cancer Walk, joining survivors, families, and supporters in the fight against breast cancer. Our team celebrated the strength of those affected and helped in raising awareness for a cause that touches so many lives. It was a powerful and uplifting day filled with hope, unity, and determination, and we are proud to stand with our community in supporting lifesaving research and resources.

October 2025: Halloween Tour

Team Schwartz hit the road once again for our annual Halloween School Tour with our COO, Attorney Patrick Wooten, and everyone’s favorite crime-fighting pup, McGruff the Crime Dog. Together, they visited schools across Mississippi to share important safety tips, pass out Halloween bags, and bring plenty of smiles to students and staff. It was a fun and meaningful way to help kids stay safe while celebrating the season, and we’re grateful for every school that welcomed us with open arms.

November 2025: Christmas for Cara event

Team Schwartz was proud to participate in Storage Max’s Christmas for CARA event, supporting their mission to bring joy and resources to animals in need during the holiday season. Our team joined fellow community members to collect donations, celebrate the spirit of giving, and uplift the incredible work CARA does year-round. It was a heartwarming event filled with generosity, wagging tails, and festive cheer—and we were grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference for Mississippi’s animals.

December 2025: Save a kid 2 save a life

Team Schwartz was honored to participate in the Save a Kid 2 Save a Life Annual Christmas Giveaway, joining community leaders and families to help spread joy during the holiday season. Our team handed out gifts, connected with parents and children, and supported an event that brings hope, relief, and cheer to families across Mississippi. It was a meaningful opportunity to give back and brighten the season for those who need it most, and we were grateful to be part of such a heartfelt community tradition.

November 2023: Jackson - Canopy Golf Classic

September 2023: Halloween Safety with McGruff the Crime Dog

Spreading Halloween Safety with a Smile! #TeamSchwartz had a blast traveling across Mississippi to visit over 3,000 enthusiastic kids in various elementary schools. Our Halloween safety presentations, along with our special guest, McGruff the Crime Dog, helped educate young minds about staying safe during the spookiest season. Reflective Halloween bags and candy made the day extra special.

July 2023: Jackson - Blood Drive

We are partnering with Mississippi Blood Services to host a blood drive today! Come by our Jackson location to donate! All blood donations will go to Children's of Mississippi and the G. V. Sonny Montgomery Medical Center!

April 2023: Rolling Fork Donations

We donated thousands of dollars' worth of blankets and towels to the people of Rolling Fork. Attorney Kelli Stevens is from this area and has been donating and volunteering since the tornado struck. We will continue to support Rolling Fork as they continue to rebuild.

April 2023: Jackson - CARA – Dog Days of Summer

CARA's 14th Annual Dog Days of Summer is scheduled for Saturday, April 29th from 10am-3pm at Pelahatchie Shore on Pelahatchie Shore Drive at the Reservoir.  Event Sponsors  Richard Schwartz & Associates Injury Lawyers, P.A.

and VSS, LLC.    It's going to be a fun day for your entire family and pups including a pet parade & pet contest, a children's carnival with lots of fun activities, lunches provided by Outback & Lost Pizza. Delicious Desserts by Shel's Sweets & Just Imagine Cookies, live music, arts & crafts vendors, petting zoo, and blessing of the pets.   Other activities will include pet training & K9 demo units.  We have revamped the Silent Auction so watch for exciting news in upcoming posts for details!!!!   Voluntary Admission is a bag of dry dog food. The Children’s of Mississippi Radiothon has been a passion of ours for 23 years, and counting. Our staff loves to get involved by donating their time to answering donors as they call to pledge their donations to Mississippi’s only children’s hospital.

January 2023: Jackson - Coats for Kids

Closing out the annual #CoatsforKids drive and we are so proud of our employees and their generous donations. Thanks to our partners at WAPT for including us in this important cause every year!

August 2022: Meridian School Supply Donation

Doug Lee, our Meridian, MS attorney, delivered thousands of supplies we donated to Northeast Middle School. Northeast Middle School is home to teacher Ashley Shier, winner of the 2022 Golden Apple award. Attorney Richard Schwartz says, “A new school year can come with a lot of stress, and we wanted to alleviate some of that by providing both students and faculty with proper materials to have a happy and successful school year.”

April 2022: Adopt-A-Shelter Pet

Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet-Day is celebrated on the last day of April every year, and this year Richard Schwartz & Associates Injury Lawyers, P.A., sponsored events in Jackson and Tupelo and donated these adorable reflective doggie bandannas.

March 2022: Mississippi Miracles

The Children’s of Mississippi Radiothon has been a passion of ours for 22 years, and counting. Our staff loves to get involved by donating their time to answering donors as they call to pledge their donations to Mississippi’s only children’s hospital.

February 2022: Make-A-Wish

This year, we teamed up with Make-A-Wish Mississippi to grant our friend Jordyn’s wish: a trip to Hawaii! Being able to provide this experience for such a special person, and her family, was something we will never forget.
