Hewitt Jones

Hewitt was born in Oxford, Mississippi and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated from Millsaps College in 2007 with a degree in English. After college, he spent a year working as a historian for the Mississippi Department of Archives and History before deciding to pursue a law degree at Mississippi College School of Law where he won an American Jurisprudence award for his work in a course called Race and the Law.

He left that position in 2014 to cofound the still-existing Griffin Jones Law Firm PLLC. He has specialized in the areas of workers’ compensation, personal injury, Social Security disability, and insurance bad faith law throughout his career, and he has continued to focus primarily on representing individuals in workers’ compensation and Social Security disability matters since joining the firm in 2019.

Hewitt is a member of the Workers’ Compensation and Litigation Sections of the Mississippi Bar. He has served as Community Outreach Committee Chair of the Capital Area Bar Association, and he is a member of the Mississippi Association for Justice.
