RoundUp Weedkiller Linked to Cancer
Richard Schwartz & Associates Injury Lawyer, P.A. was recently featured on a WHPM Fox 30 news report on Roundup, a popular brand of weed killer that is killing more than just weeds.
Mississippi personal injury attorney Richard Schwartz stated in the interview: “Part of the allegation is the fraud that the company had when Monsanto didn’t tell anyone that this could be a dangerous product that you need to be aware of.” Roundup contains glyphosate, a chemical agent that has been linked to blood cancers and which has been banned in many countries. The chemical has also been banned in New York and may soon be banned in California as well.
As the largest seed manufacturer on the planet and the company behind other dangerous chemical compounds including DDT and Agent Orange, Monsanto has a $6 billion incentive to ensure that Roundup products stay on the market. The company claims that the chemical is perfectly safe for use around people and pets and that it only targets weeds, but evidence suggests otherwise.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) initially ruled that the chemicals present in Roundup could cause cancer. Years later, a reinvestigation came to the opposite conclusion. Then, two days later, the EPA official who did the investigation resigned from the EPA. It is believed that he colluded with Monsanto to skew records and protect the company’s interests.
Roundup Known to Caused Blood Cancer
Roundup has been linked to the following forms of cancer:
- Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma
- Leukemia
- B-cell Lymphoma
- Multiple Myeloma
“It’s time for Monsanto to start owning up to the hidden dangers of Roundup,” says Richard Schwartz.
